General Safety Information

· Keep an approved fire extinguisher within easy reach.

· Make sure your extinguisher is ready to use and fully charged.

· Where appropriate, use a stove thermometer on the stove and flue pipe.

· Install smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. More on CO

· Never use gasoline or charcoal lighter fluid to start a fire.

· Keep flammables a distance of at least the minimum of the manufactures recommendation.

· Properly dispose of ashes in a metal container, stored outside.

· Have a fire evacuation plan and rehearse the plan at least a few times per year with all family.
